Songs to Sing
Blessings to Share: Choir Retreat
August 17-19, 2012 (Friday-Sunday)
What a wonderful musical heritage we Lutherans have!!
Over the years Lutheridge has been a major catalyst, bringing together wonderful musicians, both pros and amateurs, to share our abundant blessings with programs such as Music Week each summer and the Handbell weekends in February. Now we have another opportunity for sharing the many songs that we know and learning new ones at the new choral retreat weekend. This is a time for adult choirs of all sizes to come together and learn from a skilled, faith-filled leader: there will be plenty of rehearsal, plenty of food, plenty of learning, and plenty of fun!
Beginning with dinner on Friday evening, and ending with a worship/concert on Sunday morning, you will be surrounded by people there for exactly the same reasons. Participants will leave with 5 polished, ready-to-sing pieces, appropriate for worship with any sized congregation. Workshops and a reading session will also be available.

Tentative Schedule
The clinician for our very first choral weekend retreat will be Scot Hanna-Weir. Scot is a former summer staffer at Lutheridge and a senior staffer for Music Week for several years. In 2008 and 2009, he was the Middle School director for Music week. He is now a doctoral candidate in Choral Conducting at the University of Maryland.
