Gifts & Giving

Importance of gifts

Fees charged to children and youth cover only 80% of the cost of camp. Gifts from synods, congregations, and indviduals enable us to keep camp affordable for all youth.  Other youth need additional financial assistance in order to attend camp.  No one is turned away from camp because of financial reasons.

Charitable gifts
• Provide scholarships to young people who need financial assistance to attend camp.
• Maintain and improve the facilities at both Lutheridge and Lutherock.
• Assist with the development of new programs to enable the ministry to better serve.
• Strengthen Lutheridge+Lutherock Ministries for future growth and development.

Giving Clubs
In 1997, giving clubs were established to recognize individuals who provide the strong base of support Lutheridge + Lutherock needs to grow and expand this ministry.  These gifts provide support for the annual needs of LLMI.   Benefits of membership in the giving clubs includes:

  • Regular listing in the donor honor roll in the LINK newsletter and annual report
  • Invitations to special events for donors
  • Most importantly, the knowledge that your gifts are helping to give children a Christ-centered week of camp that will change their lives.

Endowment
LLMI has a general endowment fund as well as special named scholarship and facility funds.  Each of these funds are managed according to agreements set up by the donor and/or LLMI Board of Trustees.  The principle of these funds is protected while a portion of the interest/earnings is distributed each year for ministry.  The long-term health of this ministry is dependent on the growth of these funds and new funds being added to them.  Planned giving is the most common method of LLMI recieving new funds into its endowment.  Click here to view a list of LLMI's endowment funds.

Thornburg Legacy
The Thornburg Legacy has been established since 1999.  It is named after the Reverend Dr. J. Leweis Thornburg, founding leader fo LUtheridge to encourage planned gifts which helps provide for the long-term mission of Lutheridge + Lutherock Ministries.
